TERMS & CONDITIONS

TRAINING TIMES/SESSIONS
The Studio's Pilates-based technique requires that you train at least once a week on a regular basis and we therefore allocate clients regular sessions as close to their requirements as is possible. Once they are established, these times will be made available to you until such time as you give notice that you no longer require them.

In order to commence with Pilates you will be required to do an Assessment/Orientation session. Your posture and range of movement will be assessed during this session. We will also discuss some basic anatomy concepts as well as a brief history of Pilates and its fundamentals. You will be required to do 4 sessions before joining a class.

Private classes and orientation sessions are one-on-one sessions and are an initial learning of your own body and its imbalances through movement. Private classes can also be progressed to a group class as a maintenance tool. A group class provides the platform for you to implement your learnings and become self-sufficient.

Even after joining a class you may opt to have some private classes, as you progress, in order to work on specific requirements within your own body.

GROUP CLASSES
The number of mat work group class participants will never exceed 7 to maintain standards of teaching. As mentioned, a number of orientation sessions will be required before you can be slotted into a class.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS/CLIENT ABSENCES
Because of the demand for REGULAR training times and the studio's congested timetable and limited space, clients will be charged for all missed appointments/absences. Unfortunately no exceptions can be made.

A 24hr cancellation policy applies in order to cancel your session or reschedule to another time convenient to the trainer and their availability.
Full rate will be charged for any cancellation received with less than 24 hours notice

For periods of absence (i.e. holidays, studies, other commitments), a two week notice period would be appreciated so that alternative arrangements can be made to fill your slots. Unfortunately we are unable to reserve these slots unless a 50% retainer is paid, otherwise the slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. These Terms & Conditions have been aligned to standard industry practice for Pilates as well as Dance studios and swim schools etc.

STUDIO CLOSURES
The studio runs through School Holidays and is generally closed on public holidays. In the case of illness, continuing education, or personal commitment, on the Pilates Practitioner's part, every attempt to find a replacement Practitioner will be made. Clients will be notified well in advance of any foreseen absences.

PAYMENT
Payment is required monthly, in advance, by the 1st of each month.

Increase of fees – In order to keep in line with fluctuating inflation rates, we reserve the right to increase our fees annually, in accordance with the current inflation rate. Clients will be notified of any increase one month in advance of such increase.

TERMINATION OF TRAINING
Except in exceptional circumstances (as agreed by both the Pilates Practitioner and Client) 30 days notice of termination of training will be required.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

HYGIENE & ATTIRE:
Our method is very hands on so please wear something that is comfortable, allowing you to move freely but that also allows us to see your body clearly.

The cleanliness of our studio and equipment is a priority for us and we would be grateful if you would let us know if at any time we do not shape up. As a courtesy to fellow clients and to our Practitioners, we ask that all clients make personal hygiene, particularly clean feet, a similar priority, and thank you for your understanding in this sensitive matter.

PUNCTUALITY:
In fairness to all our clients, we try to keep strictly to session times and we cannot extend your session if you are late. We ask that you arrive 5 minutes before your class so that you have time to change and start your own gentle warm up. The classes are carefully structured to maximize the benefit to your body. Please bear in mind that it is disruptive to the Instructor and fellow participants if you arrive late.

Please make sure that your cell phone is on either off or on silent during classes. The answering of phone calls within the class is unacceptable. Should there be an emergency, please keep your phone on silent with you and take the call outside of the studio.
